- Semi-open kitchen unit interior design-

The semi-open kitchen design is a "modern interpretation" of traditional living space. The design is between the traditional kitchen and the open kitchen, combining the advantages of both: preventing oil smoke while enhancing the sense of kitchen space.

The owner likes to be lively and will cook and entertain friends at home for dinner on holidays. The designer uses glass doors, glass windows and half-waist partition cabinets to divide the kitchen and living room.

Glass doors and windows can isolate the fumes and noise during cooking, and can also take into account the interaction needs of homeowners and visitors, allowing them to maintain communication with family members and guests while cooking. Half-waist partition cabinets can provide additional storage and space for displaying furnishings.

In addition to focusing on space division, the design must also take into account the overall harmonious style. The homeowner likes the industrial style: black, gray, and metallic, but is afraid of giving it a rigid feel.

The designer used black frames on the kitchen and bedroom doors and windows. Part of the wall in the entrance living room is painted with artistic paint to create a cement wall effect. The custom-made in-wall TV cabinet is also finished in dark gray with a marble cabinet top.

The half-waist partition cabinets, built-in cabinets in the dining room and entrance, and the walls of the TV area are all made of light wood color to neutralize black, white, and gray, bringing a warm feeling. The dark blue tile wall in the dining room becomes the focus and feature of the whole house.

Echoing the metal hanger in the dining room, a false wall with metallic copper finish is placed at the entrance, bringing a fresh feel to the whole house. At the same time, it is used as a screen to cover the custom-made desk and wall cabinet for decoration.

The designer uses straight-grained frosted glass doors as bedroom doors to provide the unit with sufficient lighting, while also increasing the unit's sense of space and maintaining privacy. Coordinate with the glass doors and windows of the opposite kitchen to maintain the overall aesthetics.
