Before many customers purchase rattan-woven furniture, they will ask us, "Will it be difficult to take care of?" and "Will there be so many holes collecting dust?" In fact, rattan-woven furniture is really not as troublesome as they thought! In recent years, bohemian and natural-style home designs have emerged. As long as one or two rattan homewares or furniture are placed in the home, the atmosphere can be immediately enhanced. Here we will introduce to you our Indonesian rattan weavers from WOODGATHER It’s a piece of cake !
Why choose Indonesian rattan woven furniture?
Indonesia has long sunshine hours, abundant rainfall, and the soil is fertile due to volcanic ash, so the rattan produced in Indonesia is relatively plump and strong. Therefore, Indonesia’s rattan materials are the best in the world, which has also made Indonesia the largest exporter of hand-woven rattan materials.
rattan style
There are many styles of hand-woven rattan. We currently sell Indonesian rattan furniture in two main types: hexagonal eye rattan. And Xida .
- The weaving method of the hexagonal rattan is more complex, with polygonal eyelets, and the style is more traditional and retro.
- The weaving of peccary is in the shape of a cross, and the style is relatively simple and fashionable, making it easy to match with other furniture.
Things to note before buying rattan products
Since our rattan fabrics are made of natural rattan material , there may be slight burrs, color spots and color differences on the rattan branches. These are natural traces. In addition, since it is woven by hand , it is difficult to ensure that every pattern is 100% the same. There will also be splices between rattans, but the connections will be hidden as inconspicuously as possible.
There are also many manufacturers on the market who use plastic rattan instead of real rattan in order to save costs. The color of the plastic rattan is yellowish, and the surface is relatively shiny. The color and pattern of the entire rattan fabric are exactly the same.
Maintenance points to pay attention to!
- Preparatory tools: cotton cloth, soap, vacuum cleaner, dust sweep (you can use a brush/paint brush/old makeup brush)
- Dust treatment : first wipe the surface lightly with a dry cotton cloth, then slowly sweep the vine holes with a dust sweeper, and use a vacuum cleaner to suck out the dust. (After connecting the soft-bristled suction head to the vacuum cleaner, adjust it to vacuum at the minimum horsepower.
- Stain treatment : First use a dust sweeper to sweep away the dust on the surface, moisten a cotton cloth with soapy water, wring out the water as much as possible and gently rub it in a circular motion, and then wipe it dry with a dry cotton cloth. If the stain is really difficult to clean, you can also brush your teeth to assist.
- Try to use cotton cloth for cleaning to avoid the loops of towels/other fabrics from catching vine branches.
- Never clean with detergent ! Only use clean water and soapy water, because the cleanliness is too high and chemicals may corrode the surface of natural materials.
- After using it for a period of time, it is normal for the rattan fabric to sag a little. In addition to the frequency of use and habits, it may also be caused by the moisture in the air being absorbed by the rattan branches. You can add some edible salt to water, dip it in a towel and wring it dry, then gently wipe it on the rattan fabric, and then let it air dry naturally to help restore elasticity.
- Avoid exposing it to direct sunlight or placing it directly next to heating objects such as stoves to avoid fading or brittleness.
- Keep indoors well ventilated to avoid moisture accumulation.
